UNIVERSITY HILLS AUSTIN

University Hills homes, while not far from the University of Texas, are actually in the region of the city known as Heritage University.  These homes are slightly younger than many of the city’s centralized homes, with a median year built of 1964. Homes here are also larger: they have an average size of 1,700 square feet.  Many homes in this neighborhood give buyers the opportunity to renovate or customize a home. University Hills is just south of the intersection of US-183 and US-290, providing quick and convenient access to Greater Austin.  Interstate 35 offers residents a direct route to the heart of Downtown Austin only 7 miles away.

THINGS TO DO NEAR UNIVERSITY HILLS

Starting with nearby Dottie Jordan Park, several public amenities are easily accessible to the area around University Hills homes.  This includes an outdoor pool, basketball courts, as well as the Little Walnut Creek District Park and the 9 hole Harvey Penick Golf course.  The area’s outdoor recreation also includes the beautiful Walter E. Long Metropolitan Park and Lake, which provides boaters and paddlers a full day’s worth of floating and fishing on the water.

SCHOOLS

Austin ISD serves students living in this neighborhood. Winn Elementary (K-5) and Andrews Elementary (K-5), Pearce Middle (6-8) and LBJ High School (9-12) are the assigned schools.  In addition to the public schools of Austin, residents have many private schools they may consider nearby, including Mt.Sinai Christian Academy, The Bertha Sadler Means Young Women’s Leadership Academy, and The Magnolia Montessori for all.
